APPLICATION :

The RXMVE 1 latching relay is generally used as a position-indication relay for circuit breakers and disconnecting switches or other applica tions not requiring heavy-duty contacts, or where compact design reduces panel space requirements. It can also be used as a lockout repeat relay for protective applications (e.g., on transformer circuits).

The RXMVE 1 is especially useful where control functions require extra security (e.g.. where the relay must remain operated in the presence of both operate and reset signals and reset only if the reset signal is present and the operate signal is missing). The relay will OJ!erate and remain picked up if both operate and reset coils are energized simultaneously . In addition the relay is designed so it will not operate or reset if sig nals of incorrect polarity are inadvertently ap-

plied. These features can simplify control circu design.

The relay will operate and latch-in for a sing! impulse of correct polarity; it is not provided wit self-interrupt contact for the coils and it is nc permissible to connect one of the relay nc car tacts in series with the coils for this purpose a this will not give an adequate pulse for reliabl operation. The relay can withstand a continuou supply of 110 % of the rated voltage simultar eously in both coils up to 125 V ratings. For rate voltages 220-250 V only one coil at a time ca be supplied continuously at 110 %.

Where heavy-duty contacts are required  (e.g for current transformer secondary circuits). refE. to the type RXMVB 2 (8 contacts) or RXMVB (14 contacts).
